FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

Volvo Cars USA LLC (Volvo Cars) is recalling certain 2019-2020 S60, V60, V60 Cross Country, S90L, V90, V90 Cross Country, XC40, XC60, and XC90 vehicles. Due to a software/hardware incompatibility, the Automatic Emergency Brake (AEB) system may not detect obstacles and engage as intended.

Front left axle shaft failed at 18,000 miles, producing noticeable noise and vibration when accelerating and turning to the right. The car has never been in an accident, nor has there ever been an incident (e.g., striking a curb) or other abuse that could have caused this failure. Fortunately I brought it into my local Volvo repair shop before further damage to the transmission and other connected parts. Test drive by the repair shop confirmed the vibration at various speeds and maneuvers.

Driver’s side side view mirror moves to a different location each time car is entered/started. Saving pre-set location of mirror does not hold.
