Brakes were malfunctioning and did not work. I was traveling South of Hwy 99 in the middle lane and noticed the vehicles in front of me were slowing down and braking. I attempted to applied the brakes but it was not working. I swerved to the left to avoid a collision with the vehicles in front of me.
