POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION

ON CERTAIN VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 5-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS, DUE TO IMPROPER SHAPE OF THE CLIP, THE RETAINING CLIP THAT KEEPS THE GEAR SHIFT CABLE ATTACHED TO THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER CAN CONTACT THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER HOUSING IF EXCESSIVE LATERAL FORCE IS APPLIED WHEN SHIFTING TO FIRST GEAR.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 SUZUKI AERIO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO 80 MPH. THE CONTACT THEN APPLIED THE BRAKE AND THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND CAUGHT FIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT WAS AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE, BUT FLAMES CAME FROM THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE OWNERS INSURANCE COMPANY. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND TESTING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WEATHER WAS NOT A FAC

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 SUZUKI AERIO. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH HE HEARD A LOUD JOLTING NOISE. HE STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND OBSERVED THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL UNDER THE HOOD. HE WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND HE DROVE IT TO A REPAIR SHOP. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS AN INTERNAL HOLE IN THE DIFFERENTIAL. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 SUZUKI AERIO. DURING EARLY MORNING HOURS, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE AND EXPLODED. THE VEHICLE WAS THROWN TEN FEET INTO THE AIR. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE ARSON INVESTIGATOR STATED THAT THE FIRE ORIGINATED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE CONTACT CALLED SUZUKI, BUT HAS NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 36,000.

AFTER I BOUGHT MY CAR (IN LATE DECEMBER 2004), I NOTICED THAT THE REAR-END TWITCHED (VERY SLIGHT SWINGS TO THE LEFT & RIGHT THAT QUICKLY RE-GRABBED THE ROAD AFTER LOSING TRACTION). THIS OCCURRED EVERY TIME THE ROADS WERE WET OR SLIPPERY, AND I USED IT AS A SIGNAL TO SLOW DOWN. I PURCHASED MY AERIO 2005 SUZUKI DEC 2004, IN NOV 2005 TIRES WORN PREMATURELY ON 10,503 MILEAGE, FRONT BRAKES PADS AND ROTORS HAS TO BE REPLACED. I TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP:REPLACED PADS, MASHINED ROTORS AND ALIGNED/REPLACED ONE TIRE. MONTH LATER I COME BACK TO DEALERSHIP WITH THE PROBLEM TO STOP THE CAR ON THE SPEED 15ML/H: PUSH THE BRAKES PEDAL TO THE FLOOR, CAR DID NOT STOPED.
