CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 207, "SEATING SYSTEMS." AND STANDARD NO. 210, "SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY ANCHORAGES." THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE ONE TO FOUR INBOARD SEAT STUD FASTENERS THAT DO NOT MEET SPECIFICATION FOR STRENGTH.
AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2006-2010 Pontiac Solstice and 2007-2010 Saturn Sky vehicles. The Passenger Air Bag Suppression System (PPS) sensor may become bent or damaged within the front passenger seat, possibly disabling the front passenger air bag.

REAR ENDED A VEHICLE, TOTALED CAR, AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY, BROKE ANKLE AND HEEL.

AFTER A HARD BRAKE ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR STOPPED FINE WITH THE ABS BRAKES KICKING IN AS NEEDED. HOWEVER, AFTER THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, WE STARTED TO MOVE FORWARD, AND THE BRAKES WOULD NO LONGER FUNCTION PROPERLY. AS IT CAME TIME TO STOP AGAIN, I PRESSED THE BRAKE TO THE FLOOR, AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I THEN PROCEEDED TO ATTEMPT TO PUMP THE BRAKES, BUT BY THAT TIME, I WAS RIGHT UP ON THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME, AND I REAR ENDED THAT VEHICLE RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO BOTH THAT CAR AND MINE.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT AFTER THE CRASH THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DRIVER FROM THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A HOSPITAL WHERE THERE WAS ONE INJURY REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

I OPENED THE DRIVER DOOR FROM THE INSIDE, AND MY HAND WAS SLASHED OPEN. BLEEDING PROFUSELY. THE CHROME HAD PEELED OFF THE HANDLE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ENTIRE DOOR PANEL, STATING THAT IT WAS AN EXPENSIVE, ONE PIECE UNIT. I SOLD THE CAR, AND BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE FROM MY FIANCE. (WE BOUGHT THEM BOTH ON THE SAME WEEK) HERS HAS BEEN FINE UNTIL NOW, WHEN THE CHROME ON THIS ONE HAS BEGUN TO BUBBLE UP. IT WILL ALSO BREAK FREE AND BECOME TOO SHARP TO USE. THE DEALER SAYS IT IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM

BOTH TIMES, THE CAR CAME TO A STOP WITH THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES FUNCTIONING PROPERLY (BRAKE PEDAL VIBRATIONS INDICATING CORRECT MODULATION).
