Steering damper has failed with 45,000 miles on vehilce and causing a dangerous shake on the highway affectionately konw as the "death wobble" among jeep owners. This was recalled in eariler models of my vehicle (2018-2021 4XE) but is occruing the same in my 20234XE. This part should have not worn out already and is causing a dangerous situation.

Everything just turns off and steering wheel locks up. It says to put in park. After many tries to start, it will turn back on. Has been taken to dealer many times and nothing has worked. There is another recall 2nd one for this vehicle that now I cannot charge it . Park near other vehicles or in my garage due to fear of fire. Dealership says they are doing approx 1-2 a month and I am #59 on the list. I have not been offered a replacement vehicle. They told me I could not trade it in because it is “unsellable”.

On 1/19/2026 I had my 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe serviced at a Jeep dealership to have recall 68C corrected. I received a call from the dealership later that day stating a new battery was not needed, only a software update was needed. They completed the software update.
