After a rear end hit by another car the red alert/caution light for the airbag system on the front electric dashboard was lit up. The system did not engage after being hit and after taking the car into for repair replacement parts are not available over 5 months later for the same year and model by any original source in the US as of today. Accident occurred in August 2025. Repair shop did identify the 2 failing parts, both related to parts associated with the driver side seatbelt and where it

While driving down the highway the passenger seat headrest airbag deployed. Causing it to hit the back of my head with no warning. There were not any lights on or anything.

We were just driving on the road when the passenger head rest deployed forward. We were not hit or parked anywhere, just normal driving through town. This sent a slight tingling sensation around back of neck and spine, now just sore later in the day.

The active headrest shot off without cause and whiplashed my head and neck. There was not an accident or any reason for it to go off.

I was crossing a road to get to the median and my Jeep stopped moving in the middle of a 4 lane highway, separated by a median that I never made it to due to it stopping moving during acceleration. On 12/09/2024, I got into the vehicle, sat in the driver seat, turned the ignition on, and then immediately, the driver seat adaptive headrest popped open hitting the back of my head forcefully. I looked inside the headrest and it appears that there are two plastic pieces that cracked and broke apart.

Air bags failed to deploy during major MVA. Sensors clearly should have been hit (see images). The vehicle is no longer in my possession. Safety- driver knocked unconscious likely from hitting head on steering wheel. If the vehicle did not collapse the way that it did, major injuries or death would have occurred with the airbags failing to deploy. Reproduced- unsure Vehicle was collect and assessed by the insurance company. There were no warning lights prior to the accident.

I was very fortunate not to hit the truck next to me or run off of the road as the force of the blow was enough to thrust my head forward and make me see stars. I was able to pull over and after about 10 minutes I was able to see clearly and was no longer too dizzy to drive. This malfunction is extreme dangerous and could very easily result in severe injury or loss of life due to causing a crash.
