WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE REAR OF THE JEEP BEGAN SMOKING. WE PULLED OVER AND IMMEDIATELY THE JEEP BURST INTO FLAMES. WE GRABBED A SUIT CASE AND GOT AWAY FROM IT. THE FUEL TANK EXPLODED AND THE ENTIRE JEEP WAS ENGULFED IN FLAME AND BURNED TO THE GROUND. WE WERE MOVING SO WE HAD MOST OF OUR PERSONAL POSSESSIONS IN IT. OBVIOUSLY EVERYTHING WAS LOST. I AM A SENIOR ADJUSTER AT PROGRESSIVE INS AND HAVE NOTICE A SERIOUS COMMON PROBLEM HAPPENING WITH 93 & UP JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES WITH A V8 ENGINE. I'M SURE IT IS DUE TO THE HARSH ENVIRONMENT IN THE SOUTHWEST BUT COULD VERY WELL BE POSSIBLE AND JUST DUE TO AGE. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE PLASTIC CROSSOVER HOSE ON THE FUEL RAIL IS RUPTURING AND SPRAYING FUEL ON THE DISTRIBUTOR RESULTING IN AN IMMEDIATE ENGINE FIRE AT THE REAR OF ENGINE AND CAN BE A SERIOUS THREAT TO OCCUPANTS. I HAVE NOT BEEN SUCCES
