MY INSURANCE COMPANY (GEICO) SECURED THE CAR AND HIRED A FORENSIC ENGINEERING COMPANY (DOWN FORENSIC ENGINEERING, INC., CARY NC) TO INVESTIGATE THE ORIGIN OF THE FIRE. DOWN CONCLUDED THAT THE FIRE WAS ELECTRICAL AND ORIGINATED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA CONDUCTED ITS OWN INSPECTION, WHICH DID NOT CONCLUSIVELY DETERMINE THE CAUSE
