TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1998 HONDA CRV. THE CONTACT WAS REVERSING OUT OF HER DRIVEWAY AND WHEN SHIFTING TO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT DRIVER INTENT. DURING THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT'S FOOT REMAINED FIRM ON THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. THE VEHICLE CRASHED THROUGH A STOP SIGN AND PROCEEDED TO CRASH INTO A MAILBOX AND THEN A NEARBY TREE, KNOCKING IT DOWN BEFORE COMING TO A STOP. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND THE OWNER SUSTAINED LACERATIONS AND BRUISES TO THE MOUT

LOVED MY HONDA CR-V , BUT ON MARCH 20, 2006, I HIT A SLICK SPOT WHILE IT WAS SNOWING. I PROCEEDED TO LOSE CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE, GOING INTO THE DITCH FRONT FIRST. HAD A FRONT IMPACT, THEN BEGAN TO FLIP 2-3 TIMES ONCE END TO END AND SKIDDING 30+ FEET. MY SEAT BELT HELD, BUT MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, I COULD HAVE DIED, AND IF THERE HAD BEEN A PASSENGER, THEY WOULD HAVE, THE WHOLE PASSENGER SIDE WAS CAVED IN. 1998 HONDA CRV LEFT FRONT TIRE BLEW OUT. *TS THE DRIVER'S SIDE LEFT FRONT TIRE BLEWOUT WHEN IT CAME INTO CONTACT WITH AN OBJECT IN THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE SPUN OUT OF CONTROL AND CAUSED THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR OF THE VEHICLE TO STRIKE THE CONCRETE BARRIER. *NM
I RECENTLY READ THE PRESS REGARDING FIRES STARTING UNDERNEATH HONDA CRVS. LAST YEAR, FOLLOWING AN OIL CHANGE, I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND HEARD PEOPLE SCREAMING AT ME FROM THEIR CARS-THERE WAS A FIRE UNDER MY CAR. I QUICKLY PULLED OVER AND, BY THEN, THE FIRE WAS OUT. I IMMEDIATELY DROVE BACK TO MY MECHANIC-THEY EXAMINED THE CAR, WHICH STILL SMELLED OF SMOKE, BUT THEY WERE STUMPED. THE GARAGE IS VERY REPUTABLE AND AAA RATED. I RECENTLY READ ANOTHER ARTICLE THAT INDICATED NHTSA REOPENED AN I
WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE PASSENGER'S AIR BAG DEPLOYED 5 MINUTES LATER AFTER THE COLLISION HAPPENED AND CRACKED THE WINDSHIELD. NO WARNING LIGHT APPEARED PRIOR TO THE CRASH. *AK

I AM NOT THE OWNER OF THE CRV, I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WITH ONE. I AM WRITING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE POOR AND HAZERDOUS DESIGN OF THE "CPILLAR MOUNTED REAR LIGHTS". BY MOST ACCOUNTS THE CRV IS A GREAT VEHICLE TO OWN. IT IS ANOTHER MATTER COMPLETELY IF YOU HAVE THE MISFORTUNE OF FOLLOWING ONE IN TRAFFIC, AS I DID, IF YOU OWN A CAR. YOU SEE, THERE ARE NO REAR TAIL LIGHTS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS VEHICLE AND NOT EVEN A CYCLOPS LIGHT IN THE CENTER OF IT. INSTEAD, THERE IS A LOVELY TIRE PROUDLY
VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN JAPAN. KNUCKLE ARM BROKE, CAUSING LEFT FRONT TIRE TO COME OFF, AND RESULTING IN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND AN ACCIDENT. HONDA SAYS THAT FAILURE WAS DUE TO DRIVER ERROR, OWNER MAINTAINS THAT IT WAS A DEFECT. *AK *ML
UPON CRASHING INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE WITH CRUISE CONTROL SPEED SET AT 60 MPH, THERE WAS NO DEPLOYMENT OF DRIVER'S SIDE OR PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS. NOT SURE IF THE VEHICLE WOULD BE TOTALLED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER NFORMATION. *AK

CONSUMER WAS IN AN ACCIDENT, AND HER AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK
WHILE PARKED THE VEHICLE WAS PUSHED FROM BEHIND BY A CAR GETTING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. THE PUSH WAS ENOUGH TO SEND THE TAIL PIPE FORWRD INTO THE FUEL TANK CAUSING A 1.5 INCH DEEP DENT IN THE FUEL TANK AND TOTALLY TRASHING THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. HAD THIS BEEN A REAR ENDER ON A FREEWAY IT SEEMS THAT THIS PIPE CAN EASILY PUNCTURE THE FUEL TANK CAUSING A FIREY DEATH AT VERY LEAST. I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM TO BE AS SERIOUS AS THE FORD PINTO FUEL TANK PROBLEM OF YEARS PAST!
WHILE VEHICLE WAS GOING ABOUT 15-20 MPH AIRBAG DEPLOYED, DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE, WENT OFF ROAD AND THE SUV TURNED OVER ON ITS SIDE. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
VEHICLE EXPERIENCES DEPLOYMENT OF BOTH AIR BAGS WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. NO POTHOLE OR ANYTHING WAS HIT OR ROLLED OVER TO CAUSE THIS CONDITION TO HAPPEN. VEHICLE WENT OUT OF CONTROL, CAUSING CONSUMER SERIOUS INJURIES AND PASSENGER MINOR INJURIES. DEALER/MANUFACTURER NOTIFIED. *AK
