I GOT INTO A ACCIDENT. AT THE INTERSECTION OF WASHINGTON ST AND 2ND ST IN RENO NV. I IMPACTED ANOTHER CAR AS THEY WENT ACROSS THE INTERSECTION. I HAD THE RIGHT OF WAY, I IMPACTED THE PASSENGER REAR END OF THE OTHER PERSONS VEHICLE. THE MAIN POINT OF IMPACT ON MY YUKON WAS THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT CORNER. THE ACCIDENT WAS NOT VERY BAD, NO ONE REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION AT THE SCENE. WHEN I IMPACTED I WAS TRAVELING LESS THAN 35 M P H. AND ACCORDING TO THE DRIVEWISE DEVICE. THE VEHICLE IMPACTED

BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC DURING RUSH HOUR, BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR CAUSING ABOUT A 10 MPH IMPACT INTO PICKUP IN FRONT OF US. GLAD WE WEREN'T UP TO SPEED WHEN THE BRAKES WENT. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, I HAVE RUSTED BRAKE LINES, AND THE FRONT CROSSOVER LINE LEAKING PROFUSELY DUE TO CORROSION OF METAL.

THE VEHICLE PARKED NEXT TO THE BURNING VEHICLE SUSTAINED DAMAGES TO THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. ABOUT 3 HOURS INTO A LONG-DISTANCE TRIP, DURING HEAVY RAIN, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON MY CAR QUIT WORKING. I WAS PULLING A CAMP TRAILER AND HAD 4 CHILDREN IN THE CAR WITH ME. IT WAS A VERY FRIGHENING EXPERIENCE AND CAUSED US ALL GREAT DISTRESS AND ANXIETY WITH THE DANGEROUS SITUATION. THERE WAS NO PULL-OUT AVAILABLE SO I WAS FORCED TO STOP THE VEHICLE WHILE IT STUCK OUT IN THE ROADWAY. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND OPENED THE HOOD OF THE CAR. ABS BRAKE PROBLEMS; 3 0R 4 TIMES A DAY WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, UNDER NORMAL BRAKING SITUATIONS, REGUALR ROAD CONDTIONS, THE PEDAL GOES DOWN TO THE FLOOR BROAD AND THE ABS DOES NOT KICK IN, RESULTING IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER (6) TIMES FOR BRAKE PROBLEMS. DEALER ADMITTED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE ABS, BUT COULD NOT RECTIFY. ON 5/12/98, DRIVER WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH DUE TO BRAKE PROBLEMS. *AK
