REAR ENDED SOMEONE DUE TO THE INABILITY TO STOP IN TIME DUE TO THE POOR PERFORMANCE OF THE 1993 GMC SUBURBAN BRAKING SYSTEM. BRAKES ARE A VERY BIG PROBLEM ON THIS TRUCK

WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER PRESSED BRAKES AND THEY FAILED. VEHICLE ROLLED OVER SOME GRAVELAND. THESE WERE ABS BRAKES.*AK
EA95026, POOR BRAKE PERFORMANCE; INTERMITTENTLY WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, THEY LOCK UP, CAUSING VEHICLE TO GO INTO A SLIDE. THIS CONDITION HAS LED TO TWO REAR END CRASHES. DEALERSHIP IS NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR PANEL RATTLED, THE DEALER FOUND THE BEZEL TO BE CRACKED AND BROKEN. CONSUMER FEELS VEHICLE GETS BAD GAS MILEAGE. ON DRY, SMOOTH PAVEMENT MY WIFE WAS UNABLE TO PREVENT AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THE ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM. THE DRIVER IN FRONT OF MY WIFE CHANGED HIS MIND ABOUT ENTERING A LEFT TURN LANE AND WHIPPED HIS CAR BACK IN FRONT OF MY WIFE. BOTH THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER CAR AND MY WIFE THOUGHT THERE WAS ENOUGH SPACE BETWEEN THE VEHICLES TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES ONLY TO DISCOVER THE CAR WOULD NOT DE-ACCELERATE QUICK ENOUGH. SHE HAD BOTH FEET ON THE BREAK PEDAL AT THIS TIME. THE DEALE
THE ONLY WARNING OF THIS IMPENDING FAILURE WAS THE BATTERY INDICATOR CAME ON. I PULLED OVER WHEN THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE ALL OF A SUDDEN MOVED FROM RIGHT TO LEFT. THE ALTERNATOR FLAMED UP FOUR TIMES AND WE WERE ABLE TO EXTINQUISH WITH THE HELP OF PASSERBYS. NO OTHER WARNING ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS SHOWN! I AM REPORTING THIS BECAUSE AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER INFORMED ME THAT THIS FIRE SHOULD NOT HAVE OCCURRED.

EA95026; POOR BRAKE PERFORMANCE; WHEN COMING TO A STOP, DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKES, THERE WAS A LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND IT FELT AS THOUGH THE BRAKES COMPLETELY LET GO, CAUSING THE TRUCK TO SLID FORWARD AND HIT VEHICLE IN FRONT. THE ROAD WAS A LITTLE SLICK WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THE TRUCK IS BEING REPAIRED BY THE DEALER. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH CONSUMER WENT TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND THE ABS LOCKED UP, CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO HIT A FENCE AT 5 MPH AND RUNNING INTO A DITCH. *AK

DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH ON MAIN ST ,WAS ABOUT 5-6 CAR LENGHTS IN FRONT 0F OTHER VEHICLE ,WENT TO APPLY BRAKES, NOT PUMP THEM, TRUCK BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN , BUT DID NOT STOP, CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO REARENDED VEHICLE IN FRONT. DEALER CANNOT DETERMINE PROBLEM . *AK
WHILE DRIVING THE ABS BRAKES DID NOT ENGAGE, PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE, RESULTING IN A CRASH. *AK
COMING TO A STOP SIGN AT 30 MPH, STEPPED ON BRAKES, PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. VEHICLE DID NOT STOP, REAR ENDED VEHICLE IN FRONT. *AK
ABS BRAKE PROBLEMS, INTERMITTENTLY; WHEN COMING TO A NORMAL STOP AND THE ROAD SURFACE BECOMES SIGHTLY UNEVEN, THE SYSTEM ENGAGES WHICH MAKES THE STOPPING DISTANCE GREATER THAN LESS. THIS CAUSED DRIVER TO HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. NO DAMAGE WAS INVOLVED. *AK
