I HAD A MINOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES THEY WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR. I HAND MY VEHICLE TOWED TO SHOP AND IT WAS FOUND THAT THE BRAKE LINES HAD RUSTED THRU IN THE BRACKET ON THE FIREWALL.

AS TRUCK WAS STARTED AFTER ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND BEING PULL OUT OF GARAGE ON11/10/15 THERE WAS A FIRE UNDER THE FRONT OF TRUCK. WHEN THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED, THE MECHANIC SAW THAT THE WIRING WAS EXPOSED DUE TO CONTINUOUS SCRAPING AGAINST TRUCK FRAME.

I WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN MY VEHICLE, SO I UNDERSTAND THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY. WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS THAT THE DRIVERS AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE IMPACT TOTALED MY TRUCK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND TO DECELERATION ATTEMPTS AND THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE THEN ERRONEOUSLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A STEEL POST THEN A TREE. UPON IMPACT, THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. WHEN TRAVELING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION AT A GREEN LIGHT ANOTHER VEHICLE ILLEGALLY ENTERED THE INTERSECTION. I SAW THE VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTED TO STOP BUT WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES THE PEDAL WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND NO BRAKING ACTION OCCURRED. I WAS TOLD I BLEW A BRAKE LINE. THE CAR WAS REPAIRED OF THE DAMAGE FROM THE ACCIDENT BUT I HAD TO PAY FOR THE BRAKE LINE REPAIR. AFTER GETTING THE TRUCK BACK I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE REPAIR SHOP FOR AN ALIGNMENT WITHIN A FEW DAYS.
