ON CERTAIN HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH 7.3L DIESEL ENGINES, THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR LOCATED ON THE ENGINE OF THE VEHICLE MAY FUNCTION INTERMITTENTLY, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN AN ENGINE STALL.

IN JUNE OF 2003, A 2002 FORD EXCURSION LIMO SUFFERED A FIRE LOSS UNDER THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITHOUT THE ENGINE RUNNING OR POWER SWITCHES ON. IT HAD NOT BEEN USED FOR SEVERAL HOURS. WHILE AN EMPLOYEE WAS IN THE PASSENGER AREA CLEANING THE LIMO, HE NOTICED THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. THE FIRE ORIGINATED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE IDENTICAL SWITCH IS IN THE CONTACT'S FORD EXCURSION WHICH CAUGHT ON FIRE ON SEPTEMBER 29, 2005. HAD CONTACTED MY DEALERSHIP, AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL.
