2001 DODGE RAM 3500. UNIT #1 WAS WESTBOUND ON THE OHIO TURNPIKE IN THE DRIVING LANE. UNIT #2 WAS EASTBOUND ON THE OHIO TURNPIKE IN THE DRIVING LANE. UNIT #1 HAD A RIGHT REAR OUTSIDE TIRE BLOWOUT, WHICH CAUSED THE OTHER DUAL TIRE TO BREAK OFF. FUEL GAUGE READS HALF FULL AND IT IS EMPTY. I HAVE PUT IN 6 FUEL SENDING UNITS AND IT WILL LAST 6 TO 9 MONTHS AND THE GAUGE WILL SLOWLY START TO SHOW FUEL IN TANK AND IT IS EMPTY. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH ALL DIESELS. LAST TIME I WAS RAN OUT OF FUEL IN THE FAST LANE OF I-75 IN FLORIDA. CARS WOUND UP IN THE MEDIAN AND SHOULDER CAUSE MY TRUCK WAS DEAD IN THE FAST LANE. GAUGE READ A LITTLE OVER HALF A TANK OF FUEL. THIS IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED. *TR

MARCH 27, 2006, HUSBAND WAS RAN OFF ROAD BY UNKNOWN VEHICLE. HE WAS GOING ABOUT 40 MPH AND MADE IMPACT WITH A TREE AT ABOUT THIS SPEED. HE HIT THE CURB WENT AIRBORNE, ACCORDING TO EYEWITNESS, MY HUSBAND DOES NOT REMEMBER, AND HIT THE TREE, CAUSING MAJOR DAMAGE TO HIS WORK VEHICLE. THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG NEVER DEPLOYED. MY HUSBAND FRACTURED THE C-5 VERTEBRAE IN HIS NECK, HIS RIGHT HAND IS WEAK AND NUMB, AND ALSO HE HAD BRUISING TO HIS BRAIN WHICH CAUSES MEMORY LAPSES AND OTHER PROBLEMS. *JB

WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO WORK SMOKE STARTED ENTERING THE CAB SO I BEGAN TO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY. I BEGAN TO NOTICE BRIGHT LIGHTS FROM UNDER THE DASH. BEFORE I COULD GET OUT FLAMES BEGAN TO ENTER INTO THE CAB. I ONLY HAD TIME TO JUMP OUT OF THE TRUCK AND WATCH IT ENGULF INTO FLAMES. I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT WITHOUT ANY HARM TO MYSELF. THE ONLY THING LEFT IS THE BED OF THE TRUCK. *AK

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE BRAKES, CALIPERS AND REAR SHOES WERE REPLACED. THIS DID

WHILE SHIFTING DOWN TO 2ND GEAR, LET OUT CLUTCH AND RPMS WENT UP TO 300 WITHOUT TOUCHING GAS PEDAL. VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD. CONSUMER WENT INTO GUARDRAIL. BEEN TO A COUPLE OF DODGE DEALERS, SAID THIS WAS NORMAL, AND DODGE COMPANY KNEW ABOUT THIS. THERE JUST HAVE NOT BEEN ENOUGH COMPLAINTS. *AK *SLC
