Good Morning! On April 9, 2023 I was going to pickup my Son in his 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 at LAX. He was returning from a 3 week trip to Chile. After taking the transmission out of gear I attempted to start the truck, but the battery was dead. I got out of the cab and released what I thought was the hood release but released the emergency brake instead. WE WERE DRIVING DOWN A FREEWAY AND ON OUR WAY TO THE BEACH AND SUDDENLY THE TRUCK VIBRATED VIOLENTLY AND WE HEARD A LOUD NOISE, WE WERE ABLE TO PULL ALMOST TO THE SHOULDER WHEN THE TRUCK CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. SOON THEREAFTER MY TIE ROD DID FRACTURE, CAUSING ME TO LOSE STEERING ABILITY ON A 40MPH ROADWAY, WHERE I NARROWLY AVOIDED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. WHILE TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY AT NORMAL SPEED OF 65 MPH IN THE NUMBER 2 LANE, MY VEHICLE STARTED TO DEVELOP A DANGEROUS STEERING WOBBLE SENSATION. THE WOBBLE WAS SO VIOLENT AND UNCONTROLLABLE THAT I FEARED FOR MY SAFETY.
