MY SON WAS DRIVING ON A ROAD IN FL AT 45 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE JUST CUT-OFF. HE MANAGED TO GET IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. HE WAITED ABOUT 15 MINUTES AND IT STARTED UP SO HE DROVE ON. THE NEXT DAY HE WAS RETURNING FROM CLASS AND HE HEARD AN UNUSUAL NOISE FROM THE ENGINE. HE MANAGED TO GET IT INTO A PARKING SPOT AND THEN HE SAW SMOKE COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. HIS CAR ENGINE WAS ON FIRE. HE TRIED TO GET IT OUT WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER, BUT IN THE END THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAD TO PUT IT OUT.

EARLY GENERATION DODGE DURANGO (98-01) HAS ABS PROBLEMS, CAUSING ABS TO SHUT DOWN, LEAVING THE BRAKE PEDAL VERY LOW. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND THE VEHICLE WAS NEVER RECALLED ON THIS. FIX TO PROBLEM SEEMS TO ONLY BE A COMPLETE BRAKE SYSTEM REBUILD, WITH AFTERMARKET PARTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND NOT HAVE IT RETURN AGAIN.
