Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2016 Chrysler 200 vehicles manufactured May 24, 2016, to May 25, 2016. Multiple chassis fastener joints may not have been tightened to the proper torque specification.
Recent Complaints
I have two Chrysler vehicles of the same timeframe. This 200 C and a 2017 Pacifica. Both of them have the 3.6 L Penta star V6. Both of them have had the same problem. Where the oil filter goes it is a plastic housing that goes to a metal oil cooler assembly. That housing becomes dry and brittle due to heat and cracks causing significant oil leaks. The contact owned a 2016 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact was made aware by another driver that flames were emanating from underneath the vehicle, prompting her to pull to the shoulder of the roadway. Upon exiting the vehicle became completely engulfed in flames. Local emergency services arrived and were able to extinguish the flames. No warning lights were illuminated. I believe the brake or something related to the brakes failed. I ran a stop sign, with no evidence of brake marks on the road. I crossed over a highway hit a side walk almost hit a house. The safety of myself and others was at extreme danger. When finally came to a stop I couldn't put my car in Park, or back in drive or shut my car off, i beleive i had no braking or something electrical failed. My car is totaled. The only light on was the airbag light before the accident.

I was unable to stop fast enough and went through a red light and t boned another car. My airbags failed to go off. Everyone, including the police officer was shocked that they did not deploy.
Electrical system under the seats smoked and went out for the air bags. Cost me $2,200 dollars out of pocket. I am on Social Security. Can't afford such dept. Brakes are sluggish and can't be trusted to stop quickly. Power Train ,Electrical System,Engine not safe. Electrical system, Service Brakes, Forward Collision Avoidance System needs to be looked at and replace if needed.

I was crossing over and intersection and another lady was speeding playing on her phone and didn't realize she had a stop sign and hit me directly in the driver side door she was driving a 2007 Chevy Tahoe SUV as well my car was deemed a total loss and not one of my air bags came out.
GOV driver was being signaled by other passing vehicles to pull over as their vehicle was on fire. The driver was able to safely stop the vehicle and found the engine compartment was on fire.
