ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES. IF THE ENGINE FAILS TO START AND THE DRIVER HOLDS THE KEY IN THE "START" POSITION FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD, HIGH CURRENT FLOWS THROUGH THE IGNITION SWITCH, AND SOMETIMES PRODUCES ENOUGH HEAT TO MELT INTERNAL SWITCH PARTS.

LETTER FROM REGARDING CHEVROLET SEAT BELT MALFUNCTION. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT DID NOT RESTRAIN HIS WIFE DURING AN ACCIDENT, BUT INSTEAD IT EXTENDED ITS FULL LENGTH. CONSEQUENTLY, THE CONSUMERS WIFE WAS TOSSED AROUND IN THE VEHICLE AND HIT HER HEAD ON THE WINDOW WHICH CAUSED INJURIES TO HER FACE, NOSE AND EYES. HER ANKLE AND FINGERS WERE BROKEN AND RIGHT WRIST WAS FRACTURED. HIS WIFE ALSO SUSTAINED A STRESS FRACTURE ON HER LOWER SPINE. T
THE REAR BRAKES ON THE CHEVROLET CAVALIER CAN BECOME UNADJUSTED AND WHEN YOU HAVE TO BRAKE QUICKLY, THE BRAKES CAN LOCKUP AND SEND YOU INTO A SKID. THIS HAPPENED TO ME AND CAUSED ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT, BUT I WAS NOT AWARE OF THE TYPE BRAKING SYSTEM THE CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH SO I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE CAR WENT INTO A SKID UNTIL MUCH LATER, AFTER I ALMOST REAR ENDED SOMEONE.
