ON NOVEMBER 21ST, 2011, I WAS DRIVING MY ASTRO VAN ON A STRAIGHT ROAD. THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME APPLIED THEIR BRAKES. I ALSO APPLIED MY BRAKES, BUT MY FOOT SLIPPED OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL. I ATTEMPTED 4 TIMES IN A PANICKED STATE TO TRY AND RE-APPLY MY BRAKES WITH NO SUCCESS. I STRUCK THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. AFTER CONSIDERING WHAT HAD HAPPENED THAT DAY AND LOOKING AT THE BRAKE PEDAL SIZE IN THE VEHICLE IT IS NO WONDER I COULDN'T READILLY RE-APPLY THE BRAKE. I MEASURED THE BRAKE PEDAL SURFACE AR

INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING A 1994 ASTRO AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.*MR. THE CONSUMER REAR ENDED ANOTHER MOTORIST AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. *JB *NLM
AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. I REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 25-30 MPH AND THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP. *JB
BENT AND TWISTED FINGERS. FINGERS ARE BENT AND TWISTED TO CONFORM TO THE STEERING WHEEL, DUE TO THE STIFF STEERING. THE TEXTURE WORE OFF THE STEERING WHEEL AND BECAME VERY SLIPPERY AND HAD TO GRIP WHEEL HARD TO STEER VAN. NOTICED THIS RECENTLY. INDEX, MIDDLE AND RING FINGERS OF BOTH HANDS ARE BENT/TWISTED, THUMBS BENT OUTWARD FROM HANDS. CRIPPLING EFFECT LIMITATIONS ON FINGER MOVEMENTS DUE TO TENDONS BEING OFF NATURAL POSITION. DT
WE ARE A BODY SHOP. THIS VEHICLE CAME IN FROM SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. HIT A TREE ON RIGHT FRONT AND SHOVED R FENDER AND RT FRONT DOOR BACK APPROX. 1 1/2 FEET.*AK
WAS PULLING OUT OF DRIVEWAY AND MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN HEARD A LOUD NOISE. VEHICLE PULLED TO RIGHT, COULD NOT PULL TO LEFT. HAD APPLIED BRAKES, VEHICLE HIT A LAMP POST, AND THEN A HOUSE DUE TO A LACK OF BRAKING POWER. ABS BRAKES HAD FAILED. WOULD NOT STOP VEHICLE. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. *AK

CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 33MPH, AND WAS BEHIND ANOTHER VEHICLE. WENT TO APPLY BRAKES, AND PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR, AND VEERED INTO THE BACK OF THE OTHER VEHICLE. *AK
CONSUMER HIT BRAKES, SEEMED LIKE THEY WERE ON ICE , ONCE THEY LOCKED UP. CONSUMER HAS REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. *AK
APPROX. 30 MILES AN HOUR WHEN HEARD AN EXPLOSION, ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND IGNITED UNDER THE HOOD, RESULTING IN COMPLETELY BURNED.

NEW IS GM IS RECALLING THE CHEVY TRUCK ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. I HAVE A 94 ASTRO TWO WHEEL DRIVE VAN. I'VE REPORTED SERIOUS PROBLEMS WHERE THE VEHICLE DOESN'T STOP. DOES THIS RECALL INCLUDE MY VEHICLE? ALSO; I FEEL ANTI-LOCK BRAKES SHOULD BE AN OPTION. ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ARE FOR PEOPLE WHO FEEL THE NEED THE PROTECTION IF THEY PANNIC STOP. MOST PEOPLE ACQUIRE THE FEEL OF A VEHICLE AND THE ABILITY TO CONTROL IT. ANTI-LOCK BRALES DO NOT OPERATE PROPERLY IF SOMEONE PUMPS THE BRAKE OR APPLYS INCREASING AMMOU

INTERMITTENTLY, WHILE IN USE, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS MALFUNCTIONED, AFFECTING VISIBILITY WHICH RESULTED IN A CRASH. ALSO WHEN TURNING ON THE WIPERS, THEY WON'T WORK. CURRENTLY WILL BE TAKING TO DEALRES. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ALTHOUGH IT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. A HYDRALIC BRAKE FAILURE CAUSED A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN STOPING DISTANCE AND RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. UPON EXAMINATION AT THE BODY SHOP IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE LEFT FRONT BRAKE HOSE HAD FAILED AS A RESULT OF FRICTION ABRASION OF THE BRAKE HOSE. THE SPLASHSHIELD HAS AN OPENING FOR THE BRAKE HOSE. THE LEFT FRONT BRAKE HOSE IS ONLY PARTLY SHIELDED BY AN RUBBER SLEEVE. THIS SLEEVE COVERS THE BRAKE HOSE AND THE SLEEVE EXTENDS FROM THE POINT WHERE THE BRAKE HOSE IS CONNECTED IN THE ENGINE CO
THE LEFT FRONT BRAKE HOSE FAILED. HAPPENED WHILE SLOWING DOWN. HAD REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE WHICH WAS MAKING A TURN. HAD VEHICLE TOWED & AND REPAIRED. TEST DROVE VEHICLE. STILL NO BRAKES. HAD IT RECHECKED & NOTICED HOLE IN BRAKE LINE. INSURANCE COMPANY HAS HOSE HOUSING. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A DIRECT FRONTAL IMPACT IN WHICH THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY AND DID NOT PROTECT THE OCCUPANT IN THIS ACCIDENT. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
