TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2005 BUICK RENDEZVOUS. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE NEAR THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE. THE DRIVER WAS ALERTED BY ANOTHER MOTORIST THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE FIRE WAS DUE TO A FUEL LEAK FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 196,000.

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MILE PER HOUR WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL JAMMED ITSELF DOWN SPEEDING UP THE CAR. I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2005 BUICK RENDEZVOUS CXL. AS I WAS EXITING THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR, THE INNER DOOR HANDLE GAVE ME A FAIRLY DEEP PAPER- LIKE CUT. THERE SEEMS TO BE A ROUGH EDGE ON THE HANDLE THAT ALMOST LOOKS LIKE THE METAL COATING IS PEELING OR SEPARATING AND IT SLICED MY MIDDLE FINGER ON MY LEFT HAND. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S ABS SYSTEM FAILED ON 07/15/06 RESULTING IN A COLLISION. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT 25 MPH WHEN TRAFFIC FORCED EMERGENCY BRAKING CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO NOSE DIVE BUT CONTINUED TO ROLL FORWARD. THE WHEELS DID NOT LOCK UP AND THE ABS SYSTEM DID NOT ENGAGE.
